Every day we come into contact with family, friends and co-workers who do not know the love of Christ. Everyone is searching, whether openly or quietly, for something to fill the void. And those of us who have put our faith in the work of Jesus on the cross, have the answer. Romans 1:16 says that the gospel is so powerful it has the authority and the means to bring us to salvation. It is God’s power. By realizing it is God’s power and not her own, Marie Allison tells us how she has found courage to share the gospel.

Marie quotes from 2 Timothy to encourage us to put aside our fear. It can be scary to share the gospel with others. But the power of the gospel is what ultimately frees us from our fear. So, instead of fear, we should focus on our love for people. To see their needs while knowing that only Christ can fulfill them. The gospel is more than just a means to salvation. It brings us through temptation, persecution and death. And it will bring us into the loving and joyful presence of God. Take a look around you this week. Choose one neighbor, friend or co-worker and ask God to give you an opportunity to share something from Scripture with them. Even small steps will lead them closer to Jesus!
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,
for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
