Making Your Life Count offers two ways to obtain our material from The Bible App. By the end of 2017, we will have twenty different five-day plans divided into the four themes of WALK, PRAY, CARE and SHARE. This gives a total of 100 days of devotional material. All of our devotionals include a short inspirational audio message.

During His ministry on earth, Jesus instructed us to “go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father.” Jesus cares about what motivates us to pray. He does not want our motivation to be the possibility that others will praise us for how "spiritual" we are. But His instruction also has a practical element. In Jesus' day, being outside was the norm. Familiar faces and constant activity surrounded everyone. In today's world, we spend a lot more time indoors, often tied to technology. Getting outside can be an escape from the distractions of life. Debbie McGoldrick explains how prayer walking enables her to have rich times with God.

Have you ever tried going on a prayer walk? When you do, try leaving your phone and other distractions at home. And if you need ideas for what to talk with God about, follow Debbie's example. Pray for your neighbors. Look for clues on what to pray based on what you see and hear. Bring a friend with you. As you enjoy intimate time with God, you and your friend will also be a blessing to your neighbors.
“And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.
