Our suffering is often out of our control. Whether we caused it or not, we cannot change the past. Being in a difficult circumstance does not demand isolation. God continually calls us back to Him despite our brokenness and suffering. Listen to Donnelly Cameron expand on this topic.

God already knows our hearts. He feels our pain and knows our struggles. He wants us to desire to come to Him. He calls us, like He did Adam in the garden. We do not need to struggle in isolation and hide from God. We often find the healing we are searching for when we are honest with God. Suffering is not a single person act as much as it is an opportunity to grow in relationship with God.
And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?”
For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
