In many cultures, we tend to focus on people in the spotlight. It is easy to think of their lives as glamorous and without pain or worry. They use social media to present only their positive side. They avoid talking about their hardships and downfalls. Kari Jobe, a Christian singer, took the time to do the opposite. She wanted to be open and transparent about her life, showing not just the good, but the bad too.Listen as she shares her struggles and how she made it through them.

It is always important to keep in mind that everyone, no matter their status, has obstacles in their lives. Those difficult times can, like Kari said, make you bitter if you let them. She had to choose to open her eyes to the beautiful things God was creating. She made the choice to see the beauty alongside the pain. She chose to grow from those moments and trust that God had bigger plans.
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
which is why I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that Day what has been entrusted to me.
